With the inspiration of Dayanand Saraswati ji, Arya Samaj was established in 1875 AD at Kakarbari place in Mumbai, which later expanded too many countries of the world including India. The main objective of Arya Samaj is to spread the propagation of Vedas through ideological revolution. The basic objectives of Arya Samaj are described in its 10 rules. After the Nirvana of Swami ji in 1883 AD, the need for spreading education without any discrimination was felt to give further impetus to his work; in this context many Arya organizations started working, first of all in Lahore of Punjab province. In1885 AD, Dayanand Anglo Vedic College Trust and Management committee was established and in the same year the school started operating which later became known as D.A.V. College, Lahore.

Under the guidance of great personalities like Mahatma Hansraj, Pandit Gurudutt Vidyarthi, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhai Parmanand, Lala Dwarkadas, Bakshi Ram Ratan, Bakshi Tek Chandra etc. DAV spread as an educational movement all over India, resulting in the established of many DAV colleges.  In this sequence, the proposal to open Vedic collage was approved by Arya Samaj, Kanpur in 1884 AD, after that, with the efforts of Rai Bahadur Anand Swarup ji, Munshi Jwala Prasad ji, Pandey Yamuna Prasad ji and Lala Baldev Sahal ji, in 1907, night school started in Arya Samaj which took the form of the day school in 1910 AD, which was later established as DAV college on 18 July 1910 AD, on this occasion, the foundation of the college was laid by Mahatma Hansraj ji. At that time, the President of DAV College Society was Rai Bahadur Anand Swarup ji, Secretary – Lala Diwan Chandra ji and Joint secretary was Brajendra Swarup ji.

Due to continuous increase in the number of students of D.A.V. College, Kanpur many educational institutions were established by the college society. Under the guidance of late Dr. Virendra Swarup ji, famous educationist and Chairman of legislative council, Uttar Pradesh, DAV institutions continued to expand very efficiently. In 1982, the DAV college trust and society was renamed as Dayanand education institute, Uttar Pradesh. After passing away of Virendra Swarup ji, the trust was successfully run by his successful sons late Jagendra Swaroop ji (Member of legislative council), Late Nagendra Swaroop ji and Late Ragendra Swaroop ji. Due to the leadership of the prestigious Swaroop family of Kanpur, Dayanand Sikshan Sansthan has created new steps towards success.
